As the soil is unearthed, the snake is poised for an attack, its tongue flicking out and its hood spread wide. Meanwhile, its eggs are nestled in the soil, further emphasizing the snake’s protective stance. A vigilant stance adamantly prevents the individual from advancing their hand any closer.

Female cobras often stay on their nests for the entire incubation period of 75–100 days, their mere presence offering excellent protection. It selects a location with good drainage, typically beneath a sizable tree or amidst a cluster of bamboo. For several days, it diligently collects leaves, using its body to sweep them into a pile and carrying them in a tightly coiled manner.
