However, gone are the days when content creators used to make dance videos that were hit online. A recent trend of impromptu dance performances in public spaces, like marketplaces, roads, crowded trains, or railway stations, has sparked outrage with polarised opinions.
Time and again such videos go viral and social media users scream to stop the trend from miles away. Joining the bandwagon, Saheli Rudra, a social media influencer, who is often known for recording a dance video on a bustling railway station. This time, the influencer is back again with her dance video on the iconic Bollywood song ‘Keh Do Na O Sanam’.
In the clip, the woman, undeterred by the surroundings’ hustle and bustle, grooves at Kanchrapara railway station in Kolkata. From steps, and enthusiasm to expressions, Saheli Rudra didn’t miss anything as she grooved to the song.

As soon as the video surfaced online, it went viral, racking up over 9,000 likes, and the numbers are still increasing. The share left social media users divided and sparked a heated debate online. Some praised Saheli’s energetic moves and undeniable talent, and called her the queen of dance. However, the clip also pulled criticism and even scorn. Internet users stated that the influencer is dancing in public places for attention.

Suggesting the influencer to stop making commuters uncomfortable, an Instagram user suggested, “Nothing against you… but apko dance ka shauq hai to ghar pe chath pe record kr skte hai… public me kyu logo ko uncomfortable krna. (Nothing against you… but if you are fond of dancing then you can record it on the terrace at home… why make people uncomfortable in public?)”

Keh Do Na O Sanam is a chart-topper song from the 2004 release, Aitraaz. The song was crooned by Adnan Sami and Sunidhi Chauhan. Aitraaz starred Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in lead roles.
