This Chinese Company Hires Applicants Basis Their Zodiac Signs
The team behind the bizarre policy believes that applicants with this particular zodiac will bring bad luck to the firm and the boss.

Usually, an individual hopes to get a job basis their work experience and education. They hope to impress the hiring team with their skills and dedication towards the work. But, for this one company in China, an applicant’s zodiac signs are taken into account before hiring, instead of their talent.

According to the reports of the South China Morning Post, the hiring strategy of a Chinese company is gaining attention online after it banned people born in the “Year of the Dog” from applying. The team behind the bizarre policy believes that applicants with this particular zodiac will bring bad luck to the firm as well as the boss, who was born in the Dragon Year.

In Chinese beliefs, there are 12 zodiac signs and each is assigned a year, which repeats in a 12-year cycle. So, the two signs placed opposite each other are believed to be in conflict, like the dog and the dragon.

The company is called Sanxing Transportation, which is based in Guangdong province, Southern China. They wanted to hire a clerk on a salary of 3,000 to 4,000 yuan (Between Rs 35,000 to Rs 45,000), which is half the average salary in the region, stated the reports. Under its job description, the company explicitly asked the candidates born in the Dog Year to “not apply for the job.”

On August 2, a staff member of the company told the media that the reason behind banning Dog Year people is because their boss is a “dragon”. They stated, “Dragons and dogs do not get along well.” According to them, the less qualified candidates will be considered for the job, “as long as their zodiac sign is not the dog.”

The zodiac signs are assigned to “five phases,” which are metal, wood, water, fire and earth. The dragon is believed to have a water element while the dog comes under a fire element. They believe if a dog and a dragon work together, they will have frequent disagreements.
