Passengers on the Delhi Metro often come across fellow commuters who engage themselves in numerous unusual activities inside the train – be it performing stunts, making dance reels, or getting into arguments. These scenes have become quite common during metro rides. Despite strict measures enforced by metro officials, many passengers seem resistant to following the rules. While we are often tired of seeing such videos online, recently Delhi metro passengers experienced a refreshing change when a group of men entertained them by singing devotional songs of Devi Parvati, on the occasion of Navratri. In the video, it can be seen that a man is playing a guitar; and another man, beside him, singing a devotional song of Devi Parvati. Commuters in the metro are also participating with those men and filming the whole thing. The most beautiful moment occurred when those men, pointing at the women’s couch, started singing Jai Mata Di.
The video, which went viral, had the caption, “Jai Mata Di, Delhi Metro Signing Jai Mata di”, garnered 9.1 million views and received 88,4000 likes. Many users have shared their feedback in their comment section. One user has commented that for the first time in Delhi metro, he has seen a good thing. Another user commented that the best part is everyone is singing along with those men. Numerous users have commented by chanting Devi Parvati’s name.

In a similar incident, in Delhi Metro, passengers also encountered another group of young people singing devotional songs. The video shows a man singing the Deva Shree Ganesha song from the film Agneepath, starring Hrithik Roshan. In the video, another man accompanied the singer. The man with his extraordinary talent seemed to generate goosebumps among the passengers, who were mesmerised by his singing prowess. Some of them joined him in singing the song, others encouraged him by clapping their hands. Few even filmed the incident on their cell phones.
