A video of IndiGo ground staff maintaining their composure while dealing with angry passengers following a delayed flight from Delhi to Mumbai has been doing the rounds on the Internet and receiving a lot of praise. In the video, the passengers can be seen demanding explanations for the delay, especially since their flight was the only one held back while others departed on schedule. All this while, the staff responded politely and remained calm.
“Hats off to the crew of flight 6E 2236 for maintaining their composure, especially if the flight delay was due to Indigo’s error,” wrote Rattan Dhillion while sharing the video on X (formerly known as Twitter).
He added, “This is how staff should be treated? It’s troubling to see people losing their sense of civility, and flight attendants often bear the brunt of it. I don’t understand why some passengers think that buying a ticket gives them ownership over the crew and the airline.”
Dhillon concluded his post on X with thought-provoking words, “It’s true that ‘money can’t buy you manners.’”
The video opens to show an irate passenger screaming at the ground staff, “Aap kya kar rahe ho? Aapne kya laga ke rakha hai? [What are you doing? What is going on?]” As the video goes on, two women join him, saying, “Aap sirf timepass kar rhe ho [You are just wasting time],” expressing their frustration about the long wait time and that they were not informed about the delay and the revised take off time of the flight.
A third passenger can be heard insisting that if there’s a two-hour delay, they should be informed about it.
“Put us in another airline,” a woman demanded.
“Dusre sab flight ja rahe hain. Ye hi kyon nahi ja raha hai [All other planes are taking off. Why is this one not flying]?” one woman asked.
In response, another passenger says, “Because of the crew. That is the problem. The crew has an issue.”
The third passenger adds, “Aap teen ghante se khali mundi hila rahe ho. Kuch kar nahi rahe ho [You have been just nodding your head for three hours. You are doing nothing].” That’s when, the ground staff assures the passengers that the flight will take off in the next ten minutes.
Towards the end of the video, the third passenger speaks up again, “Ye flight nahi udegi [This flight won’t take off],” while the woman who was previously assured of the ten-minute departure is heard yelling at airport security: “Apne manager ko bulao yahan par, tabhi ham dusre public ko jane denge [Call your manager, then only we will let other passengers board their flights].”

This, however, was not the first time that a flight was behind the schedule. Earlier, an Akasa Air flight was delayed because the pilot was on an IndiGo flight and the IndiGo flight was also delayed.
