'Favourably Biased': Anand Mahindra Reacts To 'Old Friend' Harsh Goenka's Birthday Wish

Billionaire Anand Mahindra celebrated his 69th birthday on May 1. Renowned for his viral tweets and humility, he is the chairman of the $21 billion Mahindra Group. One of the best birthday wishes for Anand Mahindra came from fellow industrialist Harsh Goenka who was all praised for his “true leadership”.

Here’s to more years of your inspiring leadership to @MahindraRise,” Goenka expressed on X (formerly Twitter), sharing a clip of Mahindra’s inspirational address to the outgoing employees of his company.

Mahindra expressed gratitude to Goenka for the warm wishes. “You’re an old friend and hence very favourably biased— but thank you from the bottom of my heart for those very generous words,” he wrote in the comments section.

Anand Mahindra, a renowned Harvard University alum, is regarded as one of the finest entrepreneurs and business owners active today. Mahindra was also given the Padma Bhushan Award in 2020 by the Indian government in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the nation and industry.

The organisation’s operations span 22 sectors from auto to IT and real estate. Mahindra is well known for producing tractors and sports automobiles, such as the Scorpio and Bolero. He introduced the XUV 700 SUV in 2021 and the updated Scorpio in 2022.

Anand Mahindra also holds a small but significant stake in Kotak Mahindra Bank. In 2020, he stepped down as executive chairman of Mahindra & Mahindra and assumed the position of non-executive chairman.
