Bengaluru Family Offers Avocados At Puja Ceremony. Internet Says 'No More Middle Class'

It’s quite common to offer a variety of fruits such as apples, oranges and bananas during puja and similar ceremonies. Occasionally, dry fruits are also included. However, it’s rare to see people opting for expensive and exotic fruits as offerings. However, an Indian family actually did the unthinkable by offering no simple fruit but avocados to the diety. This unusual choice has captured attention and sparked interest on social media.

X user Dharmesh Ba shared a picture of his home temple, where one can see two of those exotic fruits kept as offerings to God. He mentioned that it was his parents who decided to “upgrade” the fruits. “Parents are in town and their offerings to God have been upgraded to avocado from bananas,” Dharmesh wrote.

While this is something very unexpected, the post has sparked a series of hilarious reactions on the social media platform. A user jokingly asked, “What are they, millennials??”

Another commented, “Not middle class anymore avocado class.”

A user suggested another exotic dish as prasad and added, “Guacamole and chips as Prasad.”

Taking a dig at the age-old practice of digging incense sticks into bananas, one commented, “But can it also tolerate being stabbed by agarbattis? Potential to give the banana some rest from stabbing.”
