The popular dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is back with its 11th season and has brought together some renowned faces from the industry. While the show is heading towards its third week, the contestants will face their first eliminations this season. Reports suggest that this week Aamir Ali, who made his television comeback with the show, is slated to be the first one to leave. According to a source quoted by India Forums, Aamir’s previous performance received positive reviews from the judges, but this week’s performance did not receive favourable reviews, leading to his elimination.
While the report of Aamir Ali’s elimination made headlines, his FIR co-star and friend Kavita Kaushik reacted to it calling it unfair. She said, “Not done!! He is so hardworking and a fab dancer. This is too soon and wasn’t even given a fair chance,” as quoted by ETimes. The India Forums source stated that, Aamir was in the bottom two with Anjali Anand, but he was the first participant to be eliminated from the show.
Aamir Ali had impressed the judges with his performance in the last couple of weeks, and Arshad Warsi and Farah Khan gave him some good reviews. As Aamir gave his first performance, Arshad Warsi said, “I have been a judge to Aamir earlier as well so I know his potential. He will surely go far in the show,” quoted ETimes. The portal also mentioned that for the second performance, Aamir chose to dance on Pehla Nasha which was originally choreographed by Farah Khan. Reacting to the act, Farah stated, “This song is very close to my heart…So when someone performs this song, it can go in either direction. But today, it was very sweet and nice. Both of you look wonderful together. Aamir, when you perform a waltz with a girl, she becomes the centrepiece, especially with her flowing dress and the lifts but today, you are the centrepiece.”
However, this is not Aamir Ali’s first appearance on a dance reality show. The actor won Nach Baliye 3 with his then-partner Sanjeeda Sheikh in 2007. He was also seen as a participant in Zara Nachke Dikha 2 and as a guest in Nachle Ve with Saroj Khan. Apart from that, he also hosted Nach Baliye 4. Besides, Aamir Ali has been in a number of series, including Black Widows and Naxalbari. His most recent was The Trial, where he played a cop opposite Kajol.
