New Delhi: Following Facebook’s success a lot of social networks emerged; while some faded soon, others failed to even get noticed.
Providing a ‘sin-free’ competition to the world’s largest social network, a group of Evangelical Christians in Brazil have launched a site that goes with the name- Facegloria.
Rules of this social network? No profanity, no improper picture and certainly no use or reference to ‘homosexuality’.
As Cnet notes, the site’s aim is to do the moral and spiritual cleaning up that Facebook doesn’t offer. There are 600 banned words on the site along with any depictions that are deemed sexual in nature, violent or just objectionable.
Other than aiming to take on the largest social network with an apparently cleaner and morally upright approach, Facegloria also borrows the similar blue and white theme from the Mark Zuckerberg-owned company.
However, instead of ‘like,’ the site lets you say ‘Amen’.
About 100,000 people have signed up for Facegloria in its first month and once it reaches the 10 million users target in two years, it will rechristen itself as Faceglory.
