New Delhi: Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia has a spate of gadgets that include three Apple products - an iPhone 5s, iPad and a Macbook Pro.
Quite like other celebrities who have been featured in our Star Tech series, Neha is also of the opinion that the iPhone 5s' battery life fails to live up to expectations, and, therefore, she uses a Mophie's Juice Pack battery case to keep the phone running for longer.
The actress, who has used three iPhones in the past, says she is now so accustomed to iOS that she cannot go back to any other platform. She goes on to add, "I am planning to upgrade to the iPhone 6 - it's just that I am being lazy. But yes, I will have it (iPhone 6) by the end of this month (March)."
But for Neha, her coolest gadget isn't Apple made. It is instead her massage chair, which she uses in dressing room while getting her make-up done. "It's too comfortable for me that I am always sleeping while getting my make-up done, but, on the other hand, it's never fun for a make-up artist," says Neha followed by a light laugh. She goes on saying that this is one of the best things an actor can have.
Neha, who is currently shooting her new film Moh Maya Money, finds the selfie stick a very cheesy thing to have; nevertheless, she owns one and uses it quite often. Sharing how much fun she had with her selfie stick in Paris, Neha recounts, "I rented a bicycle, and then I put my camera on the selfie stick - sometimes forward, sometimes backward - and I got some really amazing videos. It was fun."
On another occasion she enjoyed taking pictures with the selfie stick was during her friend Soha Ail Khan's bachelorette party. When asked Neha as to what is that one thing she likes in these extendable arms, she says, "I like the way they are used. I, otherwise, think it's a very cheesy thing to have - and certainly not cool."
Like most other actors, Neha is also a fitness freak and has two fitness bands - one is a Nike and the other is a Jawbone - which she switches between. She uses Nike when on long runs, and the latter the rest of the time. Among other gadgets she uses is a Bluetooth headset, portable Bluetooth speakers (one of them is a JBL).
Though Neha owns a wide range of gadgets, she believes that technology dumbs her down as there is a lot that she can do herself.
Neha, who is also a style director at LimeRoad, proudly admits that she is a big online shopper. "60 per cent of my shopping is done online. I recently bought a lot of fitness gears online including bands you need for working out like ankle straps, yoga mats, rolling things you need to roll on." Besides, she also buys a lot of gadgets, groceries, tickets and hotel reservations online.
Though she is not a gamer, but one game she spends her time playing the most is Blek, a game about imagination wherein anything you draw keeps moving.
Gadgets that Neha has on her wish list include Google Glass and Oculus VR headset. "I am just curious to use Google Glass and the reason I would like to have a Oculus headset comes from the experience that I had in Sweden during a Volvo car launch. They just did the whole thing through the virtual reality headset. And I was like wow!" Another gadget Neha wishes to have is a big TV of the size of the wall.
While Neha was quick in answering all the questions what took her a while to recall was her first phone - which was a Siemens (with an antenna).
