OnePlus 13 launch is getting closer as the company starts with its gradual teasers. The new flagship is likely to be powered by powerful hardware but more upgrades are coming this year, at least going by the comments from one of the OnePlus executives this week. OnePlus 13 is going to support magnetic charging similar to Apple’s MagSafe technology that we have recently seen on a more affordable device.

OnePlus confirmed the feature for its next flagship via a post on Weibo in China by its country chief Louis Lee. The post says the OnePlus 13 will feature a magnetic function for wireless charging, which sounds a lot like the Qi2 charging with MagSafe tech. With this feature, the OnePlus 13 could have a magnetic coil at the back which allows you to quickly charge the phone wirelessly.
The interesting thing is that OnePlus has already adopted faster wireless charging speeds with its previous models, so it is likely that the brand could take a two-thronged approach and allow people to charge with Qi2 or its own proprietary charging support. OnePlus won’t be the first Android phone brand to support the charging feature, which was earlier announced with the Infinix Zero 40 5G and HMD smartphones.

The initial news and features circulating on the internet about the OnePlus 13 look promising. We might see a new finish on the flagship phone, a big RAM boost of up to 24GB has also been reported. The phone could pack a large 6,000mAh battery which supports 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. All these changes could have a big impact on the launch price of the phone, but we are hoping the brand can offset the upgrades in some way.
The OnePlus 13 launch in China should be confirmed in the next few days but the global and India launch of the OnePlus 13 is not expected until early 2025.
