New iPhone SE Model With Face ID Might Get Pushed Into The Premium Arena: Here’s Why
iPhone SE 4 model has been long tipped to be launched but we could finally see it happen in 2025 with some big upgrades reported.

Apple has not launched a new iPhone SE model for a long time, so the next supposed iPhone SE upgrade will see a complete overhaul and that means a costlier phone for the buyers. Apple has made drastic changes to the design of the premium iPhone models while the SE cousins have borrowed their elements from the old iPhone 8 model which is ancient by now. But things are finally expected to move soon as Apple is eyeing a 2025 launch timeline for the iPhone SE 4 model.

iPhone SE 4 Launch In 2025 Mooted: Costlier Than Before?

The iPhone SE 4 model is tipped to feature a new design similar to the iPhone 14 which means you get the Face ID tech on the dynamic notch. The overhaul could be Apple’s biggest in the history of the SE series, which will invariably come at the cost of a higher price tag.

New reports say, the iPhone SE 4 model could launch for around $499 (Rs 41,000 approx) which brings it closer to the price range of the newly launched Google Pixel 8a model. And compared to the previous iPhone SE models, this would be considered as a steep hike. So, why will Apple increase the price of the supposed mid-range iPhone?

Well, replacing the design, upgrading the display, and offering Face ID are some of the reasons. And not to forget, the cameras will also offer better quality and the switch to a recent A-series chipset.

iPhone SE 4 Features Expected

Previously we have reported that the iPhone SE 4 will have a taller screen, a wide notch like the iPhone 14 model which means you can finally expect to see Face ID tech on the SE model. The company is expected to bring the A15 or even the A16 chip under the hood which will keep it relevant for many years and give you flagship-like performance.

Apple has adopted USB C with the iPhone 15 series last year, which means all the new iPhones launching in 2024 or later will get a USB C port for charging. Many people expect Apple to upgrade the SE to a dual camera system but it is more likely that we might see a single 48MP shooter.

Going by these rumoured upgrades, we expect the iPhone SE 4 to be launched somewhere around Rs 55,000 in markets like India which takes it far away from the mid-range segment.
