HTC 10 Phones to Receive Android 7.0 Nougat Update

Taiwanese technology giant HTC has announced rolling out Android Nougat update for unlocked HTC 10 phones ahead of Thanksgiving. HTC' VP of Product Management Mo Versi made the announcement on Twitter: "Happy Thanksgiving! HTC 10 unlocked owners will receive Nougat OS update tomorrow morning! Enjoy!"

However, it is unclear whether the update will be available for European and US variants of the HTC 10. This makes the HTC 10 the third major non-Google smartphone brand to receive Android Nougat update. Earlier in the month, LG G5 and Moto Z (and Z Force) received the new firmware.

HTC 10 competes with flagship's like Samsung Galaxy S7 and Google's Pixel phone, but the device has not got critical accolades like the latter ones.

Android 7.0 Nougat brings multi-window options, night mode, better battery optimisation, bundled notifications amongst other value added features.
