Google Pixel Watch 3 will get multiple years of OS and security updates as the new smartwatch from the company gets set for market roll out in the coming weeks. Google has revamped its Pixel update strategy for the smartphones, now offering up to 7 years of OS updates from the company. And while the Pixel Watch lineup might not go as long as that, Google is promising a decent level of support for its wearable products.
Pixel Watch 3 Update Support: How Many Years Will It Get
The Android 14-based Pixel Watch 3 model launched this year will be getting three years of OS updates and security patches from Google. This means the Watch 3 model will get updates till October 2027 by when Android 17 will be rolled out in the market. Google’s rival in this segment is Samsung which offers four year updates for its Galaxy smartwatches like the Galaxy Watch 7 and the new Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Google Pixel Watch 3: Price In India And Features
Google Pixel Watch 3 has launched in India with both the sizes available for more buyers. The 41mm Wi-Fi model of the Pixel Watch 3 costs Rs 39,900 while the bigger 45mm Wi-Fi model is priced at Rs 43,900. Pixel Watch 3 sale details will be shared later this month.
The Pixel Watch 3 gets an Actua display like the Pixel phones and Google claims bezels are 16 percent smaller but with more active screen estate to view maps, messages and more. The display offers 2000 nits of brightness and supports up to 60Hz refresh rate.
You can even record videos or take selfies from the Pixel Watch 3 paired with a Pixel phone. Google says the Pixel Watch 3 can run for 24 hours in a day which will have to be tested to ascertain the claims. There is one more thing about the Pixel Watch 3 series that buyers need to know. Google has confirmed that its smartwatch is not repairable and it will only be replaced.
