5G Phones Under Rs 8,000 Soon In India - What Can Buyers Expect For This Money
Brands like Xiaomi are going to launch budget 5G smartphones in the country this year and if you are eager to see what they offer, we have got it covered.

The market for 5G smartphones in India is soon going to explode with the expected launch of devices in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment. Qualcomm recently introduced its Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset that promises people the chance to buy and experience 5G data speeds without spending big on a phone.

The company is hoping that the stagnant budget market finally awakens with its move and brings millions of existing 2G or 4G users to the 5G networks in the country. So, what can people expect from these 5G phones that can launch for as low as Rs 8,000 in the next few months? Here’s a closer look at the 5 things we hope to see with these budget 5G phones:

– The new 5G chipset offers support for a 90Hz refresh rate screen that will give you Full HD+ resolution. Typically, you get 4G phones in this range with HD resolution right now, and standard 60Hz refresh rate. Qualcomm feels the upgrades will tempt people into getting the budget 5G phones.

– The other big performance bump is going to come via the chipset supporting up to 8GB RAM and UFS 3.1 for storage. Once again, budget phones till date have offered 4GB RAM or maximum 6GB memory in this range, but the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 plans to extend that support which means the apps will work faster and the multi-tasking will be better on these devices.

– That’s not all, the hardware giant has mentioned that the cameras with this chipset can support OIS which is usually available on high-end phones. We’re are still not sure if this will happen right away but excited at the prospect of seeing OIS with cameras on budget phones.

– And yes, you can also expect fast charging speed on offer with the batteries packed inside the budget 5G phones. Qualcomm says you can get up to 40W speeds on these devices but we’ll be happy to see even 30W offered on the budget 5G phones.

Xiaomi is already confirmed to be one of the first to launch its 5G phone with this chipset in the country by end of this year and we expect the likes of Infinix, Realme or even Vivo to join ranks eventually.
