SJ Suryah is one of the prominent actors, writers and directors in Tamil cinema. He has won laurels for his work in films like Mersal and Maanaadu. Now, director Mani Bharathi has also appreciated him in an interview with a portal. Mani Bharathi applauded Suryah’s work in the 1995-film Aasai, directed by Vasanth. Bharathi was working as an Assistant Director to Vasanth at that time. Bharathi recalled that they had to go to Delhi and Kullu Manali for the shooting of Aasai. Mani Bharathi said that Suryah had helped them by buying a dog that was to be depicted in Aasai. Suryah had a cameo in the film. Bharathi suggested to Vasanth that they should take Suryah as well to the shooting location, even though he has no scenes to shoot – only so that he can take care of the dog. Suryah came to Delhi in just one set of clothes and wore it for 12 days.
Aasai was a commercial success, but Suryah had less screen time in this film. He essayed the role of an auto driver in this movie.
Suryah is one of the most sought-after stars in the cinema with many remarkable performances. He had to go through his share of ups and downs as well. In an interview with the Film Companion, Suryah was asked how he could handle the failure. Suryah said, “This is the only reason I have remained a bachelor. Because, neither my success nor my failures will affect my system and I took it as a part of life. With a wife and a child, the sympathy I receive from failure is something I can’t handle. I have the freedom to spontaneously become a steward, work in an IT company, and so on if I am single.”
Suryah had a massive lineup of his films like Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan. S Shankar will direct this film. It also comprises a stellar star cast starring Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Kajal Aggarwal, and others. This film is expected to release at the cinemas on April 12, 2024.
