Trade expert Manobala V penned a lengthy Salaar review, praising Prabhas, Prashant and even Prithviraj Sukumaran, who plays a vital role in the film.

Many social media users shared similar opinions. A user gave Salaar a five-star rating and called the film one of Prabhas’ best films. “#Salaar is the BEST MOVIE in #Prabhas ENTIRE FILMOGRAPHY. #PrashanthNeel hits the bull’s eye once again. The climax is a delight. Prithviraj is a delight. #YashBOSS cameo is the surprise package. It is the climax that makes this special,” the user wrote.

News18 Showsha gave the 2.5 stars and wrote, “Overall, Salaar is only for Prabhas fans and for those who feel an assault on the senses is a form of cinema. But if you love your eardrums and have had your fill of the super-heroic exploits of an underdog-turned-top dog hero, you can give this film a probable miss.”

The review further read, “Prithviraj Sukumaran delivers a decent performance, adding significant depth to the film. There are hardly any impactful women in this festival of male toxicity and hyper-masculinity. Both Shruti Hasaan and Easwari Rao have hardly any role to play.
