Animal: Sunny Deol REVEALS The Moment When He Wanted To Get Out Of The Theatre, Says 'I Couldn't Take It'
Sunny Deol shared his views on Bobby Deol's success with the recent pan-India blockbuster Animal.

Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal has become one of the biggest blockbusters of the year and has been ruling headlines ever since its release. Now, Sunny Deol has reacted to Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial, which also stars his brother Bobby Deol. Recently, the Gadar 2 actor was speaking to the news portal NDTV when he mentioned that he is “happy” for his brother Bobby after his performance in Animal. However, Sunny praised the film but also admitted that he did not like “certain things” in it.

He expressed, “I’m so, so happy for him. It’s high time it happened. I can say now, people were not fair to him. I can’t talk about myself, but I can talk about him. They’ll call him a ‘sweet boy’, but nobody is doing anything. They know his capacity, they know his persona, but nobody let it happen.”

However, Sunny Deol also admitted that he doesn’t like Bobby Deol playing roles like the one he played in Aashram and Animal. Quoting the Ranbir Kapoor starrer as an example, Sunny Deol shared, “I watched it, but… Animal is a great film, it’s a nice film. People are loving it. I’ll have my bits and pieces about any film, even my own films. That’s me, it ain’t gonna change. But I’m not going to talk about it… When I was seeing Bobby being killed, I just got out of the seat and I couldn’t take it. I just wanted to go out and do something.”

Ranbir Kapoor’s latest release, Animal, has become the talk of the town. Despite receiving a mixed response, the movie has sparked excitement for its upcoming OTT release. Among all the cast members, Bobby Deol’s character as Abrar Haque has become fan favourite, even without any dialogues, the actor has captured major attention with his on-screen presence and dance moves in the viral Jamal Kudu song. While a sequel titled Animal Park, helmed by director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir is in the works, the buzz surrounding spin-off focusing on Abrar’s character is getting maximum hype. Recent reports suggest that the filmmakers are exploring various concepts to expand the movie’s universe and a standalone project featuring Bobby’s character is among them.

As per Times Now reports, a reliable source close to the makers claim that the “Producers are working on various ideas to carry the Animal success forward. One of course is the sequel which will not happen before 2026. A more tenable and proximate possibility is the spinoff of the Bobby Deol character Abrar Haque which can accommodate a stand-alone movie, not necessarily directed by Sandeep Vanga Reddy who it seems, will be busy with the sequel to Animal(which may or may not be titled Animal Park).”

Meanwhile, sharing his views about the possibility of spinoff and the overwhelming response for Animal, Bobby Deol says, “My character Abrar comes in late in Animal, towards the end. But the impact is unbelievable. Fans want a spinoff of my character. When it happens, I will be glad. Right now, I can’t believe what I am going through! Animal is bigger than anything we imagined. It is still not sinking in.”

Earlier, Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga discussed Bobby Deol’s character in Animal and shed light on why Abrar, despite belonging to the same family as Ranbir Kapoor’s character Ranvijay Singh, is portrayed as a Muslim while Ranvijay follows Sikhism. In an interview with Galatta Plus, Vanga highlighted his observation of people changing their religion after facing major life challenges. He mentioned that during low points in life, some individuals see it as a rebirth and transform their identity. Vanga shared that he chose Islam for Abrar’s character, because he has seen people converting to Islam and Christianity compared to Hinduism. He explained that this decision was made to add depth to the storyline, allowing for more complex family dynamics.
