Mumbai: Firing a fresh salvo against ally Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Shiv Sena on Thursday asked when Lord Ram would see ‘achhe din’ under the present regime and demanded that the government take back cases against those who demolished the Babri Masjid.
In an editorial in its party mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, the party also claimed that the BJP was facing internal pressure over the Ram Mandir issue. “Now that the presidential elections are long over and that Lal Krishna Advani isn’t going to be the President, dissolve the Babri court,” the Sena said.
“When will ‘achhe din’ come for Prabhu Shri Ram? For the last 25 years, Prabhu Shri Ram has been living in an open tent, and we have been warming the seats of power. Forget building Ram Mandir. You can’t even take back the cases filed against those who demolished Babri?” asked the editorial.
Training its guns at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah, the party said BJP did not wish to learn the teachings of Bhagwad Gita imparted by RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat. “Bhagwat ji says, ‘What is the use of the arrogance about ‘I’? ‘What I do is the best. I did this.’ He has given a guiding principle for the BJP. But what is the use? This government, like Kumbhakarna, isn’t ready to wake up even after a humiliating defeat in the three states recently,” the editorial goes on to say.
It added that people voted the BJP to power so that the party could build the Ram Mandir. “But the issue of Ram Mandir has also turned out to be a ‘jumla’. This temple isn’t going to be built by consensus. The party that overcomes all these obstacles and builds Ram Mandir will rule the country,” it said.
