'Time to Go to Real Masters': After Snub to Cong, Prashant Kishor Drops Hint on Future. It Starts from Bihar
Kishor’s cryptic tweet has triggered rumours that he may launch a political front, especially since he is in Patna for two days to meet like-minded political parties and leaders

Election strategist Prashant Kishor, in the news recently for a failed attempt to join hands with the Congress, on Monday dropped a hint about his future plans as he took to Twitter to divulge his roadmap on completing 10 years of helping “shape pro-people policy”.

“My quest to be a meaningful participant in democracy & help shape pro-people policy led to a 10yr rollercoaster ride! As I turn the page, time to go to the Real Masters, THE PEOPLE,to better understand the issues & the path to “जन सुराज”-Peoples Good Governance

शुरुआत #बिहार से,” tweeted Kishor, revealing that he had chosen Bihar to end his sabbatical. After catapulting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to a stupendous win last year, as he had predicted, Kishor had said he would “quit the space”.

Kishor’s cryptic tweet has triggered rumours that he may launch a political front. The strategist, who is in Patna for two days for meetings with like-minded parties and leaders, had earlier launched an initiative called ‘Baat Bihar Ki’ to gauge the mood of the state.

The announcement comes days after Kishor dumped the Congress, noting that more than him, the party needed leadership and collective will to fix the deep-rooted structural problems through transformational reforms. Kishor had sought a free hand to rejuvenate the Grand Old Party but a section of leaders remained wary of him and his association with other political parties.

In Bihar, specifically, Kishor has worked with chief minister Nitish Kumar for the 2015 assembly polls, and was inducted into the JD(U) three years later by the CM who was also the party president back then. The data analyst, whose clientele comprises the who’s who of Indian politics, had a meteoric rise in the JD(U) and he got elevated to the post of national vice president within a few months, triggering speculations that in him the reclusive chief minister might have found his political successor.

However, Kishor’s adversarial stance on the CAA-NPR-NRC controversy riled the BJP, the alliance partner of the JD(U). The JD(U) had ended up voting in favour of citizenship amendment bill in Parliament, only to be followed by a course correction of sorts by Kumar who got a resolution passed in the state assembly against the proposed National Register for Citizens.

As Kumar tried to downplay Kishor, the poll strategist accused his party boss of lying and was sacked less than 24 hours later. He was then inducted to the Trinamool Congress as a poll strategist, and was touted instrumental in the party’s monumental win in the 2021 West Bengal assembly polls.
