Leader of the Congress party, Sonia Gandhi is upbeat of party's victory.

New Delhi: Congress chief Sonia Gandhi cast her vote early on Thursday morning.

Accompanied by Delhi Chief Minister and Congressperson Sheila Dikshit, Gandhi walked amidst tight security arrangements to cast her vote for the 14th Lok Sabha elections.

People and other voters were at a distance, kept away deliberately to avoid a security lapse so Sonia Gandhi could cast her vote.

She left soon after. Earlier in the day, Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had cast her vote at the Lodhi Road polling station.

The mercury will be rising in Delhi as the day progresses. People are expected to endeavour to exercise their voting franchise early in the day.

The Election Commission has been trying to woo voters, especially the young ones, to come out and vote.

What's your reaction?
