Liberhan probe India's longest running inquiry | Punish culprits: Muslims leaders

New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi called Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Defence Minister A K Antony for a meeting to discuss the fallout of the Liberhan report leakage.

Sources say, they would also discuss whether to call a special Cabinet meeting to seek an approval of the action taken. The Congress chief is also worried over the repeated disruptions in Parliament.

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the second time and the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm on Monday over demands for the tabling of the report of the Liberhan Commission that probed the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition.

Senior BJP leader LK Advani, who has reportedly been indicted by the Justice Manmohan Singh Liberhan Commission of Inquiry report in the Babri Masjid demolition case, on Monday slammed the Union Government over the report.

Advani who had given a notice to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar demanding a debate on the Liberhan Commission, said he was surprised that the report has been "selectively leaked" to the media.

Meanwhile, Chidambaram said on Monday refused to comment on the contents that appeared in a media report.

The Commission that probed the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition submitted its report on June 30, and "we are required to table it along with the action taken report within six months", Chidambaram said in the Lok Sabha.

"We shall table it during the (current) winter session" of Parliament.

"It is unfortunate that a newspaper has published what purports to be the contents of the report," the Home Minister said.

"There's only one copy in safe custody and I can assure the House that none from the Ministry of Home Affairs has spoken to anyone."

A report in the Indian Express on Monday said the Commission has indicted former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as well as senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi for their role in the demolition.
