11. Sitapur is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Chhattisgarh and is part of Surguja (ST) Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Sitapur falls in Surguja district and North region of Chhattisgarh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 1,88,476 voters in the seat, which includes 93,189 male voters, and 95,281 female voters. In the 2018 Chhattisgarh elections, Sitapur recorded a voter turnout of 80.95%. In 2013 the turnout was 82.79%, and in 2008 it was 76.11%.
In 2013, Amarjeet Bhagat of INC won the seat by a margin of 17,855 votes (12.61%). Amarjeet Bhagat secured 49.61% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 1,722 votes (1.48%), registering 31.1% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, BJP led in the Sitapur Assembly segment of the Surguja (ST) Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
