Aamir Khan, one of Indian cinema’s most iconic actors, is known for consistently delivering box-office hits. As the actor prepares for his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par set for release in 2025, he’s also in talks with filmmakers to solidify his future projects. As per reports, Aamir Khan was already eyeing five projects and now has been approached by Anurag Basu for a biopic on Kishore Kumar.
A source close to the development told Pinkvilla, “The Kishore Kumar biopic is a subject close to the heart of Anurag Basu and Bhushan Kumar and they are looking to bring it to the spectacle in the best possible way. Aamir Khan is also a big admirer of Kishore Kumar and loved the vision that Basu has to bring the life of legend to the spectacle. The filmmaker has treated it very differently, and that’s what has fascinated Aamir the most.”
As per the source, Anurag Basu and Aamir have had four to five meetings and things are seemingly positive as of yet. The source mentioned, “Aamir has taken as many as 6 films in consideration, and every film is in different stages of development. While the script of Kishore Kumar’s Biopic, Ujjwal Nikam’s Biopic, and Rajkumar Santoshi’s comedy is locked, Ghajini 2, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s next, and Zoya Akhtar’s next are in the development stage. ”
“Aamir has liked all the films and will take a call on his immediate next by the end of this year. Of the 6 films, he will do three for sure in different timelines and might let go of the other three,” the source added.
Meanwhile, Aamir Khan was last seen in the 2022 film, Laal Singh Chhadha. After a much-deserved break, Aamir Khan is all set to make his comeback with RS Prasanna’s Sitaare Zameen Par and Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lahore: 1947. While the actor will be starring opposite Genelia D’Souza in the former, he will be producing his maiden collaboration in the latter which’ll see Sunny Deol in the lead.
