17. Sarangarh is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Chhattisgarh and is part of Raigarh (ST) Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Sarangarh falls in Raigarh district and Central region of Chhattisgarh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,42,877 voters in the seat, which includes 1,21,309 male voters, and 1,21,551 female voters. In the 2018 Chhattisgarh elections, Sarangarh recorded a voter turnout of 79.1%. In 2013 the turnout was 81.87%, and in 2008 it was 77.31%.
In 2013, Kerabai Manhar of BJP won the seat by a margin of 15,844 votes (8.61%). Kerabai Manhar secured 44.56% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 10,845 votes (6.8%), registering 38.68% of the total votes polled.
