New Delhi: Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha, is unlikely to take oath in this session of Parliament.

The session ends early this week whereas, the Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 5, in which Tendulkar is playing for the Mumbai Indians, ends on May 27.

The Delhi High Court had last week issued a notice to the Centre on a PIL challenging Tendulkar's Rajya Sabha nomination. The Delhi High Court had asked the Centre to reply by July 5.

The petition claims that Tendulkar's selection was unconstitutional as only people from art, science, literature and social services could be nominated and the sports does not fall under any category.
