Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, at a public event in Guntur district, has hit out at BJP and appealed the Central government to fulfil all the promises made at the time of bifurcation.
Addressing the people, he said, “We went with BJP for the sake of doing justice to the state of Andhra Pradesh. All promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act should be fulfilled. Assurances made in Rajya Sabha must be honoured. I am ready for any sacrifice for justice to Telugus.”
This is for the first time Chandrababu Naidu has made a public statement about his disappointment over the recent Budget and injustice being done to the state by not granting financial assistance.
“The Centre should handhold Andhra Pradesh until it gets on par with other South Indian states in terms of per-capita income. On behalf of 5 crore people of AP, I am demanding the central government to do justice to the state. I am ready for a debate on how much other states got and how much AP got from the Centre”, Naidu added.
The Telugu Desam Party has already set March 5 as the deadline to BJP led Central government to fulfil the promises in the A.P. Reorganisation Act.
“I visited Delhi 29 times and met everyone several times. But still justice is not done. Even in the last budget, they did injustice to AP. I am demanding that the Prime Minister and Central Ministers to at least now correct the injustice done to AP”, Naidu said.
