INC?s Kapu Ramachandra Reddy won this seat in the 2009 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections beating the INC candidate by a margin of 14091 (9.04%) votes. Kapu Ramachandra Reddy polled 1,55,854 which was 48.93% of the total votes polled.
