Ganderbal (J&K): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday took on ruling coalition partner Congress, saying the party was taking credit for the good work done by the government while blaming the National Conference for the bad.
"Some people who are opposing us today are the ones who were in the government with us for the last six years. We created new administrative units, but they (Congress leaders) are taking credit."
"It is surprising that they are ready to take credit for the good things done by the government, but they say Omar Abdullah is responsible for any wrong that happened," Omar said addressing an election rally.
Citing an example, the NC working president said a Congress minister put the blame of floods on the Chief Minister when it was his party colleague who was in charge of the concerned department.
He said it was fine with him when he was held responsible for the floods, but asked "what about the development then? The credit too should go to me then. They (Congress) say the roads were built by them. They claim credit for new administrative units, for healthcare and employment. Is this justice that they claim credit for developmental works while holding me responsible for the
floods?" the Chief Minister said.
