Mumbai: BJP President Amit Shah on Friday justified his party's move to form governments in Goa and Manipur, where the just-held assembly polls threw up fractured mandates.
"Goa and Manipur ended up with hung assemblies. In such cases, tradition has been that the party which has the support of maximum MLAs forms the government," he said.
Shah was speaking at an interactive session at the India Today Conclave on Friday via video link.
The party which has the required numbers approaches the governor to form the government. That's what we did. In Goa, Congress did not approach the governor even after we did," Shah added.
