New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) which is probing a case of illegal funds has questioned separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani's personal secretary Peer Saifullah, and his other personal staff Mohammad Ashraf Sehraie, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar.
Notice has also been issued to Syed Ali Shah Geelani's Son, Dr Naeem Geelani and he has been asked to report to the Shivpora interrogation center of NIA on Tuesday.
NIA had lodged a preliminary enquiry last week and is probing if lakhs were fraudulently transferred and withdrawn from particular bank accounts in Kashmir and if the money was used to foment violence and stone pelting in the valley after Burhan Wani's death.
Syed ali shah Geelani rubbished the charges made. The Hurriyat Conference in a statement said, "After miserably and humiliatingly failing to curb and contain the current mass uprising by all the military might, Indian government is frustrated to the extent that they frame and arrest the pro-freedom leaders and activists on the pre-planned psychological crackdown, so that they surrender and stop voicing the sentiments of their nation, thereby covering and shielding their atrocities and barbarism against common and unarmed people. But people are aware of these gimmicks and such childish acts are in no way going to bail them out of their heinous crimes."
Questioning NIA's probe the Hurriyat said, "Hurriyat Conference has blamed a much notorious National Investigation Agency (NIA) to have been given this task just to drag these fabricated cases to Delhi, thereby pressurizing the leadership. But people after rendering endless sacrifices cannot be choked by these uncivilized and inhuman tactics."
