Molestation case: BJP MLAs demand CBI probe, arrest of J&K ex-minister
Pressure is mounting on the Omar Abdullah government as an FIR has been lodged against Shabir Khan.

Srinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs held protests in Jammu and Kashmir demanding the arrest of state's former health minister Shabir Khan over the molestation allegation against him. Protesting outside the legislative complex on Monday, BJP MLAs demanded CBI probe into the case.

Pressure is mounting on the Omar Abdullah government as an FIR has been lodged against Khan which clearly shows that he did indulge in molestation of the lady doctor.

The police have reportedly sprung into action as it conducted inquiries with the staff at Winter Secretariat. They have also recovered some diaries from there.

The police had also conducted raids at several premises of the Minister through the night. It is also being informed that Khan did try to move bail in a Jammu court.

Khan allegedly molested a woman doctor after calling her to his office for some work in January. He has been booked by the Srinagar Police for molestation. While the CPM demanded his resignation, the PDP sought a probe in the case.

The woman in her complaint said that she was called to the secretariat for some official work, but felt uncomfortable when Khan tried to make advances towards her. She said that she left the office quickly.
