The controversy on Telangana Minister Konda Surekha’s remark on Naga Chaitanya-Samantha divorce is yet to die but she has stirred the boiling pot again with another shocking allegation. This time she claimed that senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao may be behind his father K Chandrashekar Rao’s “disappearance”.
The minister’s claim came during her speech at an event in the former Telangana chief minister’s constituency of Gajwel on Thursday. She has also appealed to Congress party workers to file a missing case for KCR, NDTV reported
Reacting to latest attack by Surekh, BRS leader Sravan Dasoju demanded that she should be punished.
“After Revanth Reddy became the TPCC president and subsequently becoming the chief minister of Telangana, the politics and the political discourse in Telangana has reached a very low level, derogatory, defamatory, insulting, humiliating abuses are being hurled at the opposition particularly KCR and KTR and the other family members,” he said.
“Today the entire ministers particularly a few sets of ministers in the Telangana cabinet or a set of leaders in the government are trying to emulate Revanth Reddy. A recent incident that has happened with regard to Nagarjuna and linking it up with Samantha and KTR and all that is uncalled for defamatory, and she should be punished,” he added.
Konda Surekha’s New Claim On Naga-Samantha Divorce
The controversy began when Surekha blamed BRS leader KT Rama Rao for the divorce of actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya, claiming that Samantha had refused a political favour that contributed to the separation. “KTR asked to send Samantha in return for not demolishing the N-convention centre. Nagarjuna forced Samantha to go to KTR, but she said no. That led to divorce,” Surekha had said.
Following Surekha’s comments on their personal matter, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya spoke out against the minister, stating that their decision to separate was mutual.
In response, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni, Chaitanya’s father, filed a criminal and defamation case against Surekha. He had condemned her remarks and asked her “not to use the lives of movie stars who stay away from politics to criticise your opponents.”
