New Delhi: While UP Assembly witnessed stormy session on Thursday, senior BJP leader Kalyan Singh started stormy politics outside the House.
"After the withdrawal of support by the Rashtriya Lok Dal and the Congress, the state is in the grip of political instability," as quoted by PTI, Kalyan Singh told reporters in Varanasi.
BJP has demanded imposition of President's rule in Uttar Pradesh a day after the Congress withdrew support to the Mulayam Singh Yadav government.
Adding that his party would support such a move in Parliament, the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said the political situation in the state was fit for imposition of President's rule.
Singh however lashed out at the Congress and the RLD for withdrawing support at the fag end of the Mulayam regime.
"These parties reaped benefits of power for more than three years and decided to withdraw their support only at the fag end to keep a safe distance from Mulayam Singh Yadav government's misgovernance," he said.
Accusing a senior political leader of patronising the prime accused in grisly Nithari killings, he said the CBI probe should identify the person.
On upcoming assembly polls in UP, he said if the Central rule was not imposed in the state ahead of the battle of ballot, the Election Commission should take all measures for holding free and fair polls.
To a question, Singh said the BJP was not keen on moving a no-confidence motion against the Mulayam government in the ongoing assembly session as other parties would not support it.
