It's difficult to look glamorous in summer but I'll see what I can do: Trinamool candidate Moon Moon Sen's 5 outrageous comments on campaigning
Moon Moon made downright outrageous statements to the media when she was asked her campaign strategy.

Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has released the first list of 48 candidates for West Bengal, Tripura, Manipur and Jharkhand and has decided to field actress Moon Moon Sen from Bankura parliamentary constituency. Moon Moon, who's the daughter of legendary screen actress Suchitra Sen, made some hilarious and downright outrageous statements to the media when she was asked her campaign strategy for the party as a political newbie. West Bengal has 42 Lok Sabha seats and will go to polls on April 17, 24, 30, May 7, 12.

This is an excerpt from her ABP Ananda interview:

How did you know that your name has been pitched as a Trinamool candidate?

I knew of this on TV. My brother-in-law is in politics and my husband, had he kept well, would have been an ideal candidate for politics.

How are you preparing for your campaign?

It's very difficult to look glamorous in summer but I'll see what I can do. There's no harm in that. I've done theatre and I know to combat heat. I've been to Bankura to shoot for films. I know people will accept me.

So preparations are on for your travel?

I have thrown away all my gamchha (a handspun wash cloth used like a towel to dry off after a bath in rural India). I've to buy some new ones. Then there are things that I'll need for travelling so that I can look fresh when I go visit people, talk to them and keep my temper. Those are the things that theatre has taught me.

Do you want help from Bollywood and Tollywood (Bengali film industry) film

stars in campaigning?

I don't think Mamata needs anyone to help her campaign. Why would I?

What advice would your mother have offered you had she been alive today?

My mother would never have liked me to stand by the road giving an interview. She was a very correct person.

(Takes the microphone again)

One thing I have to tell Bankura's people. I'm coming.

What's your reaction?
