Illegal mining case: Krishna gets 4 week stay
I never issued any licence or any mining portfolio, External Affairs Minister SM Krishna said.

New Delhi: A special Lokayukta court in Bangalore on Thursday deferred the hearing against External Affairs Minister SM Krishna in an illegal mining case after the High Court stayed the proceedings against him for 4 weeks.

The court said that the investigation by Lokayukta police will be stayed for 4 weeks.

The case now will be heard again on January 6.

Lokayukta special court had earlier directed police to probe into illegal mining charges against Krishna. Lokayukta police had filed FIR against the former chief minister of Karnataka.

Krishna said, "I have utmost faith in judiciary, truth has prevailed. I never issued any licence or any mining portfolio."
