From terrorist Masood Azhar to 'fugitive' Lalit Modi, NDA has helped all: Congress
The Congress, meanwhile, continued to gun for External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj over the controversy around former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi.

The Congress party on Wednesday continued to gun for External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj over the controversy around former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi.

Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala demanded that Swaraj must make in public as to how many times she talked to "fugitive" Lalit Modi during his stay in London.

The Congress also demanded that the External Affairs Minister must tell the people of the country how many times she met the former IPL czar, or if any of her family member had been in touch with the "fugitive".

Hitting out at the NDA government at the Centre, the Congress said, "From Maulana Masood Azhar to Lalit Modi, from Kandahar to London, NDA government has been helping such people on humanitarian grounds."

Surjewala further said that all letters exchanged between the previous UPA government and authorities in United Kingdom over Lalit Modi issue, which are in the government records, must be made public.

"The correspondence between then Finance Minister P Chidambaram and UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne in July 2013, which are in government records, must be made public," said Surjewala.

Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress pointed that he used to talk about a "scam free India", but his actions do not suggest the same.

The opposition party also ruled out any attempt of deal with the government over smooth functioning of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, which commences on July 21.

Denying any such possibility, Surjewala said that the Congress had demanded the resignation of Sushma Swaraj, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani "for the sake of country and constitution".
