A man, a supporter of Congress Kalka MLA Pradeep Chaudhary, suffered a bullet injury after three unidentified assailants fired at him in Haryana’s Panchkula on Friday.
The incident took place in Bharouli village shortly after Chaudhary’s convoy passed through, as he was campaigning for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections.
The injured man, identified as Goldy and hailing from Khera village in Raipur Rani, was sitting in a car when three unidentified men approached and fired three shots at him.
Goldy was initially taken to Panchkula Civil Hospital and later shifted to PGIMER Chandigarh, with police stating that his condition is now stable and out of danger.
According to the police, Goldy has a history of criminal activity, facing 29 cases across Ambala, Yamunanagar, Lalru, and Mohali. They are investigating whether the attack was motivated by any longstanding enmity.
Four teams have been formed to track down the assailants, and authorities are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas.
