Expelled BJP Leader Dayashankar Singh Insults Mayawati Again

Lucknow: Former Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dayashankar Singh who was expelled from the party for abusing Mayawati, has done it again by comparing her to a "greedy dog".

"She is a greedy woman and is like a dog that chases speeding motorcycle in lanes but steps back when the vehicle stops," Singh said in Mainpuri on Sunday.

Dayashankar had earlier sparked a row by comparing Mayawati to a "prostitute" which led to his ouster from the party. He was arrested after being booked under the SC/ST act for his statement.

BSP leaders in Mainpuri have been asked to approach the police and get an FIR registered. The BJP has said it is not responsible for Dayashankar's actions anymore.

"BJP has taken strong action against him. We condemn the comments made by Dayashankar. We are campaigning on issues in UP, focusing on development," BJP leader Vijay B Pathak said.

The Congress hit out at Singh for his derogatory remarks against Mayawati. "It is shameful, how can you make a loose comment against a women. He is repeatedly making a similar comment which shows he is doing this with a clear intention. There should be strong legal action. This is a low level of campaign, it is not on issues but on personal level," Congress leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi said.
