The new candidate for the seat is likely to be declared on Monday.
New Delhi: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief Arvinder Singh Lovely will not contest Delhi Assembly elections. Sources said the party wants Lovely to campaign in entire city for which he had to forgo his seat.
Lovely was one of the eight Congress leaders who won in 2013 Delhi polls. The Gandhi Nagar constituency from where Lovely won in 2013 is considered to be his citadel.
His name was declared in the first list of candidates for Delhi polls. The new candidate for the seat is likely to be declared on Monday.
The Aam Aadmi Party has already declared Anil Bajpai as its candidate from the seat.
