'Don't Waste Your Valuable Time...': Prashant Kishor's First Reaction After Exit Polls Predict NDA Return
Before the exit polls results, Prashant Kishor had been giving interviews to several news channels, predicting 303 seats for the BJP — the number of seats the party won in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, or slightly more than that.

Political strategist Prashant Kishor has urged citizens to stay away from “useless discussions” and “analyses” given out by “idle, fake journalists, loudmouth politicians, and self-proclaimed social media experts” during election times. His advice came soon after the release of exit polls, which predicted a massive win for BJP-led NDA.

“Next time there is talk of elections and politics, do not waste your valuable time on useless talks and analysis of idle fake journalists, big-mouthed politicians and self-proclaimed experts of social media,” Kishor posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.

Before the exit polls results, the election strategist had been giving interviews to several news channels, predicting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) might end up winning 303 seats — the number of seats the party won in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, or slightly more than that.

“According to my assessment, the BJP is going to come back with the same or slightly better numbers. In western and northern India, I don’t see a significant shift in the number of seats. The party has gained adequate support from regions in the east and south of India,” Kishor was quoted by The Print.

He also suggested a potential rise in the saffron party’s seat tally and vote share in the eastern and southern states.

Earlier, in an interview to NDTV, Kishor had claimed that there was neither significant dissatisfaction with the incumbent BJP government at the Centre nor a strong demand for an alternative in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

News18 Mega Exit Poll has indicated that Narendra Modi will this month be sworn in as India’s Prime Minister for a historic third time. The pollster has predicted between 305 and 315 Lok Sabha seats for the Bharatiya Janata Party and 355 to 370 overall for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the just-concluded elections, with the votes to be counted on June 4.
