Ghaziabad: Attacking the Centre's demonetisation move, Uttar Pradesh Urban Development minister Azam Khan on Sunday said it has made the economic conditions "bad to worse" and thousands of workers have become jobless due to it.

Workers are bound to stand in long serpentine queues for the whole day to get their money, he said after inaugurating a water treatment plant here.

The minister inaugurated a 100 cusecs Ganga water treatment plant developed by the UP Jal Nigam in Pratap Vihar colony here.

Calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi as "Badshah", Khan said he is least effected by demonetisation, while the public is afflicted by the sudden ban of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 currency notes.

He said till date the Prime Minister could not bring the "actual black money" from the foreign banks. Public is not getting its hard earned money which was deposited in the banks, the minister said.

All the developmental works are hampered due to demonetisation, he said, and alleged that bank officials are minting money as they are hand-in-gloves with black money hoarders.
