Liam Payne’s Final Photo Before Fatal Balcony Fall In Buenos Aires Goes Viral; See Here
Liam Payne, former One Direction member, tragically fell 45 feet from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, leading to his death. A photograph taken shortly before shows the singer returning to his hotel room.

A photograph of Liam Payne, reportedly taken just before his tragic fall, shows the singer returning to his hotel room in Buenos Aires. The 31-year-old former One Direction member fell 45 feet from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel’s balcony into the courtyard, leading to his death. Local network America TV aired the image of Payne in a white sleeveless top, with his tattoos visible, saying it was the last known photo of him alive before he entered the lift to his room.

Alberto Crescenti, head of the city’s emergency services, confirmed that Payne had suffered a “cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.” He told TN television that paramedics arrived quickly but could not save him. “Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life,” Crescenti said.

Payne’s identity was confirmed by checking his passport, but police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his fatal fall. Payne fell from a third-floor suite that overlooked the hotel’s pool and Michelin-starred restaurant, Sacro, where no diners were present due to its closure between lunch and dinner service.

Payne had arrived in Argentina earlier this month to attend a concert by his former bandmate Niall Horan, accompanied by his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, who left two days prior. Around the same time, Payne’s ex-fiancée Maya Henry had reportedly issued a cease and desist letter accusing him of repeatedly contacting her.

A hotel employee made two distressing emergency calls, reporting Payne’s erratic behavior. In the first call, the employee said, “We have a guest who’s off his head on drugs and is destroying everything in his room. We need someone to come.” In a second call, the employee added, “I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger. The room has a balcony, and we are afraid he might do something.”

Local media reported that Payne had been acting erratically in the hotel lobby before being escorted back to his room. Shortly after, hotel workers heard a loud noise from the courtyard, where they discovered Payne’s body just after 5 pm local time.

Authorities in forensic suits later examined the room and balcony where the fall occurred, as investigations into the tragedy continue.

The British singer and songwriter was best known as a member of the globally successful boy band One Direction.

Born on August 29, 1993, in Wolverhampton, England, Payne first gained attention when he auditioned for The X Factor in 2008, and again in 2010, where he was placed in a group alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik to form One Direction. The group became one of the best-selling boy bands in history, releasing five albums and embarking on multiple world tours.

After One Direction went on hiatus in 2016, Payne launched a solo career, releasing singles such as ‘Strip That Down,’ ‘Bedroom Floor,’ and ‘Stack It Up,’ which showcased his versatility as an artist. His debut solo album, LP1, was released in 2019, blending pop and R&B influences.
