Nashik: Nationalist Congress Party MP Supriya Sule on Friday said that a party cannot take action against its partymen facing corruption charges, till they are proved so, as allegations are often "baseless".
Sule responding to queries on corruption charges leveled against NCP leaders, including party chief and her father Sharad Pawar, said many a times allegation are "baseless", and until and unless they are proved, the party cannot take action.
She was in the city to attend a one-day workshop on social media organised by the party. "Social media networking is one of the strong online medium but it is often misused to bring bad name for people and party. Through the workshop, partymen must try to make positive use of it," Sule said.
Replying to a query on recent railway fare hike, the Baramati MP said, "Fare hike should be done step by steps. I don't know why they (NDA government) has taken a decision hurriedly, since the Railway budget is yet to be presented."
On the forthcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra, Sule said, "We are doing introspection and approaching people. We will avoid making mistakes done in the past (in general elections)."
Praising NCP's women wing, she said it is doing a laudable job to curb female foeticide and reduce malnutrition.
