Moradabad: The recent incidents of communal violence in Uttar Pradesh are an attempt to defame the state government and backed by the parties which have lost public mandate, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav claimed on Thursday. "The communal violence in different cities are abhorrent activities by these parties who have been rejected by the people and want to defame the present government," Akhilesh said.
Akhilesh said that to prevent communal forces from coming to power at the Centre, Samajwadi Party will continue supporting the UPA government.
On the question of 18 per cent reservation to Muslims in government jobs, he said, "To uplift the community we have started to implement policies in the form of scholarship of Rs 30,000 per year to 10th pass Muslims girls besides employment
allowances."
