The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has struck a note of caution for the NDA government, even as the Monsoon Session of Parliament continues to head for a total washout.

The CII has called for urgent passing of legislations that are vital to India’s economic growth.

Asserting that attention of Parliament must be diverted to important economic issues, the CII pointed that key bills like GST and Land Acquisition are pending passage.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the CII said, "Every session of Parliament is important and each one of us would like to see important issues discussed, deliberated and addressed."

"Today, key Bills including GST, the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Resettlement and Rehabilitation (Second Amendment) Bill, the Electricity Amendment Bill, etc are pending discussion and passage," the statement further said, adding that the CII wished that attention could be "devoted to these and other important economic issues".

This came even as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress continued to indulge in an all-out war with members of the latter and nine other political parties boycotted the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

While the opposition protest over suspension of 25 MPs was led by Congress president Sonia Gandhi, vice president Rahul Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the government also remained adamant, maintaining that there was no question of any of its ministers resigning.
