New Delhi: Rajya Sabha adjourned till Thursday amid uproar over Kiren Rijiju’s alleged involvement in corruption related to Arunachal Hydro Projec.
Earlier, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi launched a direct attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on demonetisation scheme amid the ongoing uproar in Parliament.
Rahul said the PM is afraid of him and if he lets him speak then his balloon will burst.
“I have some personal information on PM Modi, which is what I want to speak on in Lok Sabha, but I am not being allowed to speak”, Rahul Gandhi said in a joint press meet.
“He has personally taken this decision (demonetisation drive). So, the PM owes country an explanation, he cannot keep running away to pop concerts and public meetings. Allow opposition to speak in the house” the Congress vice-president said.
The three-week long deadlock over demonetisation issue deepened with the government accusing the Opposition in Lok Sabha of making attempts to fail the “pro-poor” decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, inviting a furious response.
