INC?s Aruna Kumari Galla won this seat in the 2009 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections beating the INC candidate by a margin of 10980 (6.43%) votes. Aruna Kumari Galla polled 1,70,871 which was 42.1% of the total votes polled.
