BJP Uchana Kalan candidate rides on husband Birender Singh's popularity, hopes to crush Chautala's grandson
She also confidently says that all the five Assembly seats in Jind district will be bagged by BJP this time.

Uchana Kalan: Premlata Singh, Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate from Uchana Kalan constituency, has a tough task at hand as she is challenging Hisar MP and Indian National Lok Dal chief OP Chautala's grandson Dushyant Chautala in the Assembly elections. But that does not scare this 64-year-old as she says, "I am more than confident that Uchana will be back with us this time."

Premlata is the wife of Chaudhary Birender Singh, one of the tallest leaders of BJP in the state and a chief ministerial aspirant. He is also a four-time MLA from Uchana, a seat which he lost to OP Chautala in 2009.

Riding on her husband's popularity, Premlata takes on her young opponent Dushyant saying, "People are very upset with the Chautalas. They are not happy with them, in fact they are very angry. Also, Dushyant is a parliamentarian. People feel that he will vacate this seat if he wins."

She also confidently says that all the five Assembly seats in Jind district will be bagged by BJP this time, thanks to the 'Modi wave'. "We will attain '60 plus' seats in the state," she added.

When asked why a strong party leader like her husband decided to cool his heels this time and instead fielded her in the crucial seat, Premlata gleefully said, "These are all decisions taken by the party. We don't question it."

She, however, hinted that Chaudhary might play a bigger role in the event of formation of a BJP government in Haryana.

If voted to power, Premlata plans to take on development work in the area 'untouched' by the Hooda government. She targeted Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for restricting all the development projects in the Rohtak-Jhajjar belt. Like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, her focus too would be on the youth, she says.

One can imagine the clout enjoyed by Birender Singh and his wife Premlata by the roaring reception they received at Modi's rally in Jind.

But wresting an INLD stronghold is not an easy task, she realises as she exits the rally grounds saying, "Remember, you are voting for Chaudhary Ji."

What's your reaction?
