"We haven't received any formal complaint from anyone as of now," Police told CNN-News18.

New Delhi: Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel found herself amidst a controversy after her husband, Ashish Patel on Saturday allegedly locked up two Central Public Works Department (CPWD) engineers at their house in Luteyns Delhi over the delay in construction.

However, Anupriya Patel rubbished all such allegations and dubbed it a political conspiracy against her by the opposition.

"The contractor is just trying to hide his own inefficiency, has a malicious intent, and he's not been speeding up the work in my house," Anupriya told CNN-News18.

"We haven't received any formal complaint from anyone as of now," Police told CNN-News18.

The Contractor, one of two engineers who were locked up, said that there was some issue regarding tiles as they couldn't be delivered on time.

"We couldn't get the required tiles over which the altercation took place and he said that we are delaying his work and talked about locking us. You won't go home till we get the required tiles, Ashish said," alleges the contractor.

Ashish Patel, however, went on to advise the contractors to take legal action against him if he had locked them up. "There are two people, a contractor and a junior engineer. They were asked by one of the caretakers to finish their work as soon as possible so that the patients could start coming in," Ashish told CNN-News18.
